2025 Weeks & Dates
Facilitating at CYL camp is a decision you won't regret!
Explorers
July 13 - 18, 2025
(CEC, Aylmer ON)
Facilitators will introduce first-time campers ages 13 to 14 to the wonders of co-operatives by sharing their history, while helping them discover the amazing CYL community that awaits! You will demonstrate and provide them with an understanding of the values and behaviours of leadership, help develop their teambuilding and communication skills, and teach them what makes a “great” leader. You will also lead a variety of traditional camp activities, while encouraging participants to begin leading their week at camp.
Trailblazers
July 19 to 25, 2025
CEC (Aylmer, ON)
Facilitators will help campers ages 15 to 16 blaze a trail towards co-operation, as we focus on our CYL community, learn to overcome communication challenges, and lead the way towards building great teamwork and co-operative leadership skills. You will lead activities focused on stereotyping, the rumour mill, the influence of social media, as well as diversity and equality. You will also encourage campers to take over leading their week at camp, while having fun exploring the great outdoors and leading traditional camp activities.
Visionaries
Saturday, July 20 to Friday, July 26, 2024
July 26 to August 1, 2025
CEC (Aylmer, ON)
Facilitators will help campers ages 17 - 18 solidify their basic knowledge of the co-operative business model, supporting and fostering our future leaders, while providing them with the tools to make a difference in their communities. You will oversee them working in teams to create a co-operative that addresses a need in their community, and develop a communication and marketing plan that will be presented to a panel of senior co-operative representatives for constructive feedback. Visionaries take over the responsibility of leading the camp with the support of their facilitators.
